Beef noodle soup is a popular Taiwanese dish, and now Silks Palace wants to provide food lovers a brand new dinning experience! From now on, worldwide travelers and gourmands may be able to enjoy the mouth-watering beef noodle soup in a cauldron, which is a reproduction of the original antique from National Palace Museum’s signature collection.
With the ever-growing frequency in interactions and exchanges between Taiwan and the outside world, The Taiwan government has been hard at work putting Taiwan delicacies in the international spotlight. Curbing curiosity and creating an appreciation for Taiwan cuisine by mainland Chinese and international travelers. Silks Palace Director Yang Huiman comments, “Thirty percent of our guests are international travelers, and beef noodle soup is one of their favorites. In order to successfully promote Taiwanese cuisines to foreigners, we want to present this delicacy in a memorable way that makes guests will want to come back for more.” Therefore, Silks Palace has spent 8 months to reproduce the cauldron from National Palace Museum’s signature collection, which has a wide, flared mouth, a linked ring motif decorating the rim, upright handles, and three hoofed feet.
Chef has specially selected premium beef brisket to cook with onion, shallot, red pepper, soy sauce and sugar for 45 minutes until it becomes tender. Soup base is made with beef short rib, preserved tangerine peel, amomum fruit, cinnamon, bay leaf, cinnamon leaf, white pepper and cook for 24 hours, then added onion, ginger, shallot, pepper, star anise, tomato, broad bean sauce, tomato paste, cinnamon stick and preserved tangerine peel into the soup to cook for another 3 hours.
