From the acclaimed director of the blockbuster movie musical “ Chicago” is director Rob Marshall’s next movie musical masterpiece called [NINE], with a release set for the end of February. So to give movie-watchers a whole new way to experience the unique characters in the film, Grand Formosa’s azie café and 2nd floor Gallery, from now until March 6th, presents a wide selection of cocktails and dishes innovatively inspired by the amazing “[NINE] cast. And in coordination with the release of [NINE], Swarovski has created themed crystal items that will be displayed in the azie atrium. Adapted from a classic Broadway musical by the same name, the story follows an arrogant film director named Guido (played by Daniel Day Lewis), who faces a midlife crisis and has hit a creative block in his career. With his career and personal life on the line, he reflects upon the various women he has loved and who have played a role in the highs and lows of his life through which he finds his true love and inspiration.

White Lady (NT$250 per glass) inspired by Mamma played by Sophia Loren
*With gin as the base, translucent Cointreau and fragrant lemon juice are mixed together for richly fruity and classy cocktail. Reminiscent of Guido’s elegant mother, who was always by his side in his darkest times.
Rising Star (NT$380 per glass) inspired by Claudia played by Nicole Kidman
*Made from a crisply fruity and slightly sour Sauvignon Blanc, bubbly champagne and sweet lychee syrup are blended for a refreshing and addictive fruity cocktail whose after taste leaves room for the imagination. To Guido, Claudia is not just his famed movie star, but his muse.
Blue Dita Fairy (NT$260 per glass) inspired by Luisa played by Marion Cotillard
*Using Dita Lychee Liqueur as the base, sweet French Blue curacao is then added with lime juice and tonic water. The color of the azure Caribbean ocean complemented by sweet and sour with a tinge of bitter is most enchanting. Prior to meeting Claudia, Luisa was Guido’s one love, and after they married, Luisa gradually came to understand her husband’s poor nature would never change and therefore she slowly lost the patience and forgiveness characteristic of women.
Malidori (NT$300 per glass) inspired by Carla played by Penelope Cruz
*With an alluring coconut aroma and berry blend of MALIBU, sweet melon liqueur and pineapple juice are together; not only can you enjoy the smooth MALIBU, you can savor a rich coconut flavor and unique fruit sweetness. Reminiscent of summer and brimming with heat similar to Guido’s wild and exotic secret lover Carla, whose hot appeal satisfied every man’s fantasies.
Velvet Hammer (NT$280 per glass) inspired by Stephanie played by Kate Hudson
*Aromatic kahlua with rich coffee accents are mixed with translucent cointreau, milk and fresh cream. The richly sweet and aromatic mix carries a very slight sweet and sour flavor, characteristic of the bright and youthful fashionista and journalist Stephanie. Sweet as candy to melt Guido’s heart, she held a vigor that penetrated Guido’s walls.
Whisky Sour (NT$250 per glass) inspired by Lilli played by Judi Dench
*Mellow but rich bourbon whiskey is the base where sweet and sour lemon juice and sugar syrup come together for a dispersed sweet and exquisitely smooth and warm taste, representative of Guido’s most trusted worker partner and close friend. She is the only one who can act as an outside observer to give Guido true guidance.
Bloody Maria (NT$300 per glass) inspired by Saraghina played by Fergie
*Tequila Gold, tomato juice, lemon juice, pepper, salt, Tabasco and Worcestershire Sauce are mixed and complemented by celery and fresh shrimp. Sweet and sour tinged with spicy edge and mature flavor, reminiscent of the first woman he ever was to become acquainted with and have fantasies of. To this very day, Saraghina, a mysterious and wild women, resides in his memory and cannot be forgotten.
